Judge Ahmed Bakry is the head of a commercial circuit at Abu Dhabi Commercial Court with specialization in construction, banking, investment and corporate disputes. Judge Bakry also has expertise in insolvency and enforcement of judgements and arbitration awards.

Judge Bakry joined the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department in November 2020. Prior to that he worked for six years as an advisor to the Egyptian Cabinet of Ministers where he was responsible for the settlement of investment arbitration disputes of the Egyptian State and foreign investors. Prior joining the Egyptian Cabinet, he worked as a judge at the Egyptian Economic Courts.

Judge Bakry holds a masters degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies - SOAS - University of London and an intercollegiate graduate from the Universities of Queen Mary and University College London. He is currently a PhD candidate in public international law at the Grotius Centre of International Legal Studies at the University of Leiden.
