Jens-Uwe Franck is Professor of Law at the University of Mannheim and Director of the Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation (MaCCI). While his main area of research is competition law, his research projects regularly address cross-cutting issues and concern banking regulation as well as consumer protection. He has published extensively in leading European and German law journals. For several years, Jens-Uwe's research has focused on competition practice and the regulation of digital platforms. He has advised the European Commission and the German Ministry of Economics on competition policy and economic regulation on several occasions. For the most recent reform of the German antitrust law in 2023, he was appointed as an expert for the German Bundestag.
