Discussion of Recent Feedback on the 2017 FIDIC Suite
As the dust settles on the new launch of FIDIC's iconic suite of contracts, prominent FIDIC experts and advisers come together to address some of the most hotly debated areas among users and practitioners alike. This panel will be followed by a users’ session providing feedback and reflections on the main challenges & foreseeable benefits of the 2017 FIDIC Suite one year on and it will assemble all key parties on stage including Employers, Engineers, Contractors and Dispute Administrators. Participation from users in the audience will also be encouraged.
New Case Studies of FIDIC Application in Practice
Experienced FIDIC Contract Users from large infrastructure companies will once again share lessons learnt in using FIDIC forms of contract to underpin some of the most challenging aspects. We have assembled a number of new case studies from different industries and geographies to help bring the benefits to life and to help you understand the practical challenges of FIDIC application in practice. Projects under review will be announced soon. These will be new and insightful cases covering several forms of contract and project types.
The International Contractors' Panel is Back
By popular demand! This session on contract administration and dispute avoidance from a contractor’s perspective will assemble seasoned contractors and in-house contract specialists from large infrastructure and engineering firms at the forefront of implementation of FIDIC forms of contract. The panel will be discussing critical areas of contract administration including optimisation opportunities and common pitfalls to avoid, as well as latest trends in dispute management and avoidance. Contractors will also want to attend the new Contractor's Bootcamp workshop that's taking place on 3rd December.
Comparing FIDIC 2017 & Other Standard Forms
The comparative advantages of the new FIDIC Suite in relation to other commonly used Standard Forms of Contract will be examined in this new and compelling session. A critical and comparative analysis of the 2017 FIDIC Contract agreement suite will be compared with other widely used forms of contract, with emphasis on the differences in: approach to procurement, risk management comparative advantages, and when best to use different contacts by employers in different global geographical markets.
BIM Compliance in the Context of the FIDIC Contracts Suite
The panel will explore how best to develop a BIM compliance addendum to the FIDIC 2017 Suite of Contracts as the global construction industry are increasingly demanding the use of BIM as an integral digital requirement from most enlightened clients and employers on major infrastructure investment.. The session will feature insights from leading speakers in this field, not least a contribution from FIDIC's Chief Executive Offer , Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE. Not to be missed.
DAABs Role Under FIDIC Conditions
FIDIC have reviewed and updated their Dispute Adjudication Rules with a view to reflect current best practice for Dispute Boards. The main changes and improvements introduced will be debated during this session, which examines current practice as well as the new rules. Delegates will also have the opportunity to give their vote on key changes using electronic voting technology through our event app.
