Osman ZafarSenior Legal Adviser at Oxford University Press
Since 2015, Osman has been in an in-house lawyer with Oxford University Press (OUP), a department of the University of Oxford committed to furthering the University’s objective of excellence in research, scholarship and education by publishing worldwide. He primarily advise OUP’s Asia Education division on all legal issues/risks arising in Asia, but also continues to support all of OUP’s business divisions on competition law issues/risks.
Previously a competition lawyer in private practice for a decade, Osman focused on the interface of EU competition law with intellectual property. He was recognised as a 'Rising Star' by Super Lawyers for this area in both 2013 and 2014. In his time in private practice, he contributed regular updates for practitioner publications, also leading post-graduate seminars at LSE on the competition/intellectual property interface in the life sciences and TMT sectors. He also helped to set up and contributed to the competition law blog, The CLIP Board (www.bristowsclipboard.com).
