Joseph is Deputy Director in the Cartels Division of the Irish Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), where he heads up the Immunity/Leniency and Case Stream Section.

Joseph holds a Masters in Law and has almost 30 years legal experience, having been admitted as an Attorney (Solicitor) in South Africa and specialising in Competition Law, at first with the Competition Commission of South Africa (2003-2007) and then with the CCPC (and its predecessor the Competition Authority) since 2008, where he has served in the Criminal Enforcement, Strategy, Mergers, and Cartels Divisions.
